Advanced Slicing Algorithms

Our Advanced Slicing Algorithms are the heart, and most important thing of the MINImill- Controller. They enable our slicer to find the perfect path to mill a 2D or 3D part. Our algorithms are self-learning, so the more files are made with all the MINImills out there, the better they get, which is an advantage for all our customers!

Automatic Tool Length Probing

Automatic Tool Length Probing enables your MINImill to always know exactly where the tip of the tool is. You don’t need to measure the length of the tool, or manually find the surface of the part. MINImill uses this function every time the tool is changed, thus reducing the time spent milling.

Advanced Surface Calibration

MINImill uses Advanced Surface Calibration to ensure that your PCBSs always turn out perfectly!
To make this possible MINImill uses the tip of the engraver to measure the height of the PCB all across the area, were it is going to mill. The measured points are then used to generate a virtual and perfectly flat copy of the real PCB. All of this is done automatically, so you don’t have to worry about anything. Just start the process, and watch your MINImill do all the work!

Advanced Safety Features

While designing the MINImill we were extra careful to make sure that everything is as safe and easy to use as possible. The only visible button on the MINImill is the red “STOP” button, which is used to stop the MINImill in case anything goes wrong.
The reason that there are not more buttons, as one often can see on bigger mills is that we wanted to keep everything simple and safe.
Another very important safety feature is the Safety Switch, which is located on the door. So if you open the door, the stepper motors are stopped, and the spindle is switched off. To continue the milling process you need to close it again, and unpause it in the software.

Industrial grade components

MINImill is built to last. We only use high precision parts to build the machine as durable and rigid as possible, while still maintaining a reasonable size. This gives MINImill the ability to precisely cut your PCBs and prototype parts.
